At Laurel Lodge, our convalescence and respite care facility is designed to provide the highest level of care in a warm & friendly atmosphere. Families can rest assured knowing that their loved one is in the best possible hands after their own.
Respite care involves providing an alternative family or institutional care for a person with a disability in order to enable a carer to take a short break, a holiday or a rest. It can cover very short-term respite, for example, a “babysitter” for an evening, or a much longer arrangement for a holiday. A respite care grant is available for eliglible persons since it’s restoration in the latest Budget held in Ireland. For more information about the grant click here.
Convalescence care is provided to patients who need time to recover after an operation or hospital stay. When this recovery period requires ongoing medical monitoring or treatment it is best provided at a nursing home like Laurel Lodge. With diet forming an essential element of the recovery process we have our own chef’s on site to provide menus customised to your specific needs.
Our highly skilled team at Laurel Lodge also provide additional services such as pain management, wound care, respiratory care and rehabilitation. We do our very best to ensure our patients get on the right road to recovery.
